Week Ending Friday, Nov. 7, 2008

I have no idea where to start... I haven't written a blog, aside posting pictures, for almost two weeks.

FIRST, the picture to the right is a daily sight on my ride to work. This is one (of many) homeless person's home. Every day he (?) is here, and this is Century City. More on this subject at the end of this blog.

NOW I think I will continue with my new music adds for the week, yes! How about Michael W. Smith's "A New Hallelujah" with the African Children's Choir?! And I have always loved Lincoln Brewster and added the bluesy tune "The Arms of My Savior" from his new album, Today Is the Day. My husband and I had the blessing of meeting Lincoln, his wife and son at GMA Week in Nashville early this year, in addition to many other artists and worship leaders. Another favorite worship leader of mine is Lindell Cooley. I heard his version of Lenny LeBlanc's song "We All Bow Down" on ElijahStreams radio on itunes and immediately loved it, so that's been added to WCSE (& hopefully we will be on itunes soon! I will let the world know of course when that happens!) I've also added TWO songs entitled "Wait on the Lord" (very apropos for this season of my life). I was searching for Enter the Worship Circle's song and Coffey's song of the same title came up also, actually as having the most "popularity" bars. Both "Waits" are great! Coffey is a member of Angelus Temple /LA Dream Center and was a finalist on, and is touring with, Nashville Star! I love all of Generation Unleashed's music and just added the energetic "Shout It Out." And then there's the gifted and talented MIKE SMITH BAND from one of our churches in CT, Gateway Christian Fellowship in West Haven. I heard his beautiful song "It's You" on ElijahStreams also & remembered worshiping with it at Gateway, so it's in there, too; and that reminds me, Gateway Worship out of Southlake, Texas, has another great worship song out "God of My Days"... and I quote, "I trust that every moment's in your hands... You're the God of my days, the King of my nights, Lord of my laughter, Sovereign in sorrow, You're the Prince of my praise, the Love of my life, You never leave me, You are faithful, God of my days... my eyes are on You, my hope is in You, my faith is in You." Those are only a few new adds this week of the hundreds of beautiful and powerful songs glorifying our great God and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on WCSE :-)

Now I'm just gonna post a few short blurbs... some highlights of the week, some bittersweet, some serious, some fun...

Twitter has been great and helping me feel connected in my new life here again in LA. Try it out at http://twitter.com/!

I'm still temping in Santa Monica for an entertainment law firm, filling in for a lady on maternity leave thru 1/1/09 as I continue to WAIT on the Lord for a permanent job wherever HE places me. I do have a big interview on Monday, 11/10!

I'm happy to say that my bus rides to and from work three days a week haven't been all that bad and I never have to WAIT very long at all for one to come! They actually add adventure to life, although I don't like the mild nausea that comes along w/them (I've always had motion sickness). On Monday I was happily riding along, listening to my Ipod, lost in my great music (I think Israel & New Breed's "Say So" was blasting) when I notice the busdriver turn around to me & mouth something. I took my earphones out & he said, "I'm not going to Santa Monica. This is the end of the line for me (Brentwood)" I then realized I'm the only one left on the bus (another blonde moment? ha ha ... read my previous blog for the other one!) But I got right off that bus & hopped on the one right behind it that went to Santa Monica! When I got on the 2nd bus, I said to the driver (hoping I didn't have to pay again), "I got on the wrong bus." He responded, "Yeah, right, sure, that's what they all say."

[Prayer stop] As I was working on this blog, I just got a call from my son, Michael (12:15 am in CT), that he had to take Don (my husband) to the ER for serious pain in his side. Oh, Lord, please help & heal him quickly and protect them all. Also, we have no insurance. But I will not even think any further about that; the Lord will provide. It's hard to continue typing now as I WAIT for an update. So, I will wrap this up by inserting a few pictures... Elaborating on the picture at the top, every day I see homeless people, sleeping in doorways, in the park and even this morning right on the sidewalk against the face of my office building on Wilshire Boulevard. I've never been as aware and saddened about this epidemic as I am now, especially that I attend the Dream Center which houses people who need food and shelter, who want to turn their lives around & commit to Masters Commission, an intense 10-month discipleship program. I also love the DC's meal plan where first you must receive Spiritual food via a Bible study before receiving your physical food, your meal. There's a wonderful blog that my new friend and brother in Christ has started this week. Please check it out: http://invisiblepeople.tv

I guess I'll just have to comment on the topic of the week, the Presidential Election, and a Cali. topic, the Gay Rights Protestors, in the next blog (if I want to give either subject the time of day... the latter caused me a THREE-HOUR (WAIT?!) commute home last night with their un-permitted, unapproved march blocking the main artery roads of & causing gridlock throughout LA's West Side). Oh, yes... I did finally make it to my first Women's Bible Study on Tues. night in the "War Room" of the Dream Center. The leader of the study, Danise, is an wonderful anointed woman of God. In addition to an amazing study she provided, there's a raffle every week and I won! ...a BEAUTIFUL basket filled to the brim with awesome gifts. Wow, what a huge blessing for me!

Well... As I WAIT for our condo to sell and WAIT for my family in CT to be reunited with me, I want you to know I love you all. Until we meet again, grow in the knowledge and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, until He comes again. Linda <>< **a few more pics below**

p.s. Just got a phone call from my daughter, Morgan. Don has a kidney stone. Pls. pray it will pass and he won't need surgery!

New ice skating rink in Santa Monica on Arizona near 5th St. It was 80 degrees today and people were ice skating!
