Urgent Update on Healthcare Bill

Everyone's desire is that the 30 million uninsured in America have access to affordable healthcare. However, this cannot be done at the expense of innocent pre-born children. Abortion is not healthcare. It kills infants and wounds women; and no American citizen should have to pay for it. Let millions of federal dollars be released to faith-based initiatives and charities that assist unwed mothers and fund adoption services.

A Great Compromise

Sen. Bob Casey's amendment and Sen. Ben Nelson's compromise are totally unacceptable. Both keep the door open for federally funded abortions. The Bible reminds us in Ezekiel 22 that God decries the political and religious alliance that promotes and legalizes the shedding of innocent blood. Many believed that Senator Nelson would be the man that would "stand in the gap" for the innocent. Instead of thsi being Nelson's Great Stand, it became Nelson's Unjust Compromise as he sold out American children for more money for Nebraska. No true pro-life leader can ever compromise on life. Ezekiel 22:12-13 says, "In you they take bribes to shed blood; you take usury and increase; you have made profit from your neighbors by extortion and have forgotten Me, says the Lord GOD."

The Great Social Problem

The people of Nebraska and the rest of the country will not forget these actions. The shedding of the blood can never be a solution to the great social problems of our day. We reject and renounce Casey's and Nelson's compromised amendments, as well as the compromised statements of support for them by so-called Evangelical Leaders, who cling to the weak and absurd argument that this bill will lessen the number of abortions. What federally funded healthcare will do is make abortion readily accessible and significantly less expensive.

We call all pro-life leaders and citizens to stand unflinchingly against this historic legislation and this great injustice of our day.

'Twas the night before Tampa...

...when all thru the town

Steelers fans were ready for the Cardinals to go down.

The flags and banners were all hung with care,

All over Tampa, the Steelers are there.

The players were nestled, all snug in their beds,

While visions of Super Bowl danced in their heads.

With Tomlin in charge, I had no fear

And settled down for the game of the year.

When in the stadium there arose such a clatter

Cardinal’s fans wondered just what was the matter

For at the stadium there was a great flash,

Someone had entered with no ticket, no cash.

The light from the moon’s glow,

Gave the luster of mid-day to the man standing below.

The smoke from his cigar made the air gloomy

They knew in a moment it was Art Rooney

He held the teams roster, his plan of attack

Big Ben to Hines Ward and Willie Parker in the back.

He saw in the defense a curtain of steel

If they can’t sack Warner then nobody will.

Troy will cover the field, he’ll be everywhere

I’m telling you Cardinals you better beware

His long locks of hair will flow in the breeze

He will catch Warner’s passes with the greatest of ease.

Mr. Rooney walked the sidelines, he paced to and fro

He wore black and gold from his head to his toe

A terrible towel he held oh so tight

As he looked to the heavens on that Tampa night.

Then the words that he spoke left a feeling of gold and black

Lord, get us home to Pittsburgh with a six pack!

Steeler Mania & The Curse of the Terrible Towel!

Make this your computer wallpaper!

Curse Of The Terrible Towel
A Poem By Dave Crawley

There is power, they say, in the towels that wave.
Like black and gold shrouds on the visitor's grave.
It's a mojo opponents should never neglect.
The Terrible Towel requires respect.

Then this! A deed unspeakably foul!
The Tennessee Titans defiles the towel!
Although their crass actions made Steeler fans wince,
You'll notice that Titan team hasn't won since.

They lost to the Colts. Then the Ravens came in,
A game Tennessee was expected to win.
But the curse of the towel gave Tennessee shakes,
As they sank in a series of stunning mistakes.

Our Black and Gold guys had a much different story.
Santonio Holmes led the gallop to glory.
Fast Willie scored, and the Steelers were winning.
For the Chargers the torment was only beginning.

Third quarter. Alas, on the Bolts' only play,
Foote gives them the boot, and he takes it away.
The towels were twirling as Ben let it go,
And the much maligned offense was starting to flow.

That towel brings sorcery into the fray.
If you don't believe it, well, check out this play.
To add to the Chargers' grim feelings of dread,
A punt that careened off this poor fellow's head.

The message, of course, as we hooted with glee,
From the Terrible Towel: Do not tread on me.
A word to the Ravens. The moment draws nigh.
This is the reason you're still flying high.

The Titans besmirched it, and now to our glee
They will be watching this game on TV.
As you enter the confines where Steeler fans howl:
Beware of the curse of the Terrible Towel.
